Breifne O'Brien is the Technical Beef Specialist for Agriland. The online publication is Ireland's largest farming news portal publishing daily farming and agri-sector news.

Breifne previously worked as an agri-news journalist and has experience in all aspects of the beef sector from working on his family-run beef and sheep farm to his previous experience working in the Irish beef-processing industry, primarily in cattle procurement.

In addition to his knowledge and passion for Irish agriculture, he also gained extensive international experience through his time spent working on a farm in South Dakota in the US.

He studied Agricultural-Environmental Science at University College Dublin. During his college years, he presented an agri-focused radio show on Belfield FM.

Breifne was a member of the World Steak Challenge judging panel in 2021 and will be looking for a steak with good taste and texture as well as an appetising smell and appearance.
