With 4 categories open for entries we are on the hunt for the best Fillet, Ribeye, Sirloin and Wagyu’s from across the globe. Whether your steaks are grass or grain-fed, we want to hear from beef producers, cattle farmers and ranchers, beef processors, steak brands and beef wholesalers.

This year we are offering more opportunities to shine a light on your steak-producing excellence, as the Fillet, Ribeye and Sirloin categories will be split into grain and grass-fed, we have introduced company awards to shine a light on not only your produce but on your business as a whole. These company awards will be free to enter, so come and shine a light on your business today.

Our internationally renowned event is judged blind by a panel of over 80 independent experts including Richie Wilson, well-known TV chef and Culinary Director of FIRE Steakhouse & Bar and Ioannis Grammenos, Executive chef and Meatologist of Heliot Steak House in London.

Judging Integrity

The World Steak Challenge prides itself on offering an independent, robust and fair judging process from start to finish. Integrity is at the heart of everything we do. Every steak is judged on its own merits against the internationally agreed judging criteria.

Stage One – Technical judging

All steaks are scored blindly on raw and cooked criteria by our expert panel of judges.

Stage Two – Scoring

All scores are totalled and the winners are verified by our judging panel.


The judging is independent and monitored at every stage. Every steak is judged on its own merits against the internationally agreed judging criteria.


All steaks have the chance to win a gold, silver or bronze medal. The top-scoring steak will receive the coveted award of The World's Best Steak.
