I began my career in the Meat Industry in the 1970's employed as an assistant meat buyer by Unilever in Yorkshire . I moved to London in the late 70's and joined the World of International Trade , based in Smithfield . I continued trading in the global market , until retirement in 2017 . During that time I travelled extensively in Europe , USA , Australia . I joined the board of the International Meat Trade in 1980's and was appointed Chairman in 2015. I am a Board Member of European Meat and Livestock Trades Union (UECBV) and prior to Brexit was Vice President with responsibility for International Trade.

I am a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Butchers ,in September 2021, I was elected Master of the Worshipful Company a position I hold for 12 months .

I am a member of Meat Women in Business.

As well as enjoying good meat , I am passionate about the Industry and promoting to the next generation the opportunities that exist for great careers in a varied , fast paced and challenging workplace.
