Married to Fiona with two children living in Tipperary. I Graduated from University College Dublin with an honours degree in Animal science in 1999. I work as a nutrition consultant to beef and dairy farmers throughout Ireland.
I have Extensive experience in international markets also. Over 22 years industry experience in various roles from crop agronomist, nutrition manager and feed mill sales manager. I Farm a herd of sucklers On my home farm in Tipperary and am currently building a herd of Pedigree Charolais cattle. My suckler herd is a grass based system with predominantly autumn calving. The commercial cows are mostly Charolais and Limousin breeding.
I am passionate about the future of Irish agriculture and the fantastic quality and sustainable food that we can offer the world.
I write a weekly beef management and nutrition article for the Irish Examiner for the last 10 years.
Away from farming, my other passion is sport and I am heavily involved with my local GAA club training both hurling and football teams at adult and youth levels.
