I have been a freelance journalist specialising in food and wine since around 2001. Currently I write mainly for the Irish Examiner newspaper where I have written the wine column since 2012 and the restaurant review column since 2015 (I share it with a colleague and my reviews appear every second week). In the past I have written recipe columns and recipe features (mainly for the Evening Herald newspaper). I also write on drinks and food for FFT.ie - online only currently but prior to the pandemic this was a print publication. I've written for FFT since it was founded a number of years ago and have written for other trade publications such as Hotel and Catering Review and Hotel and Catering Times. In the past I've been published in the Irish Times, Food & Wine Magazine and other trade and consumer magazines. I also teach wine courses and conduct wine tastings.
