Terms of Entry

  1. Entrants must be cattle farmers or suppliers or producers of farmed cattle or suppliers of meat products from farmed cattle for retail and/or foodservice outlets. Retailers can enter on behalf of suppliers. Employees of the Organiser, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the Awards are not eligible to enter.
  2. Entries must be submitted online at www.worldsteakchallenge.com. The entry form must be completed in full and be received together with the entry fee no later than Monday 7th July 2025.
  3. The cost per steak to enter is GBP 650 (+ VAT as applicable).
  4. Entrants must send enough meat to provide 6 steaks per entry, to be delivered to the judging venue – Vlees & Co, Albert Molhof 1, 1031 JK Amsterdam, Netherlands. Steaks entered from outside the EU must comply with the import conditions as laid down by the EU – full rules and regulations can be found here.
  5. Entrants may submit more than one entry.
  6. Entrants are responsible for all delivery costs, including excise duties, relating to their entry.
  7. Steaks must be from an animal born, raised and slaughtered in one country of origin; and comply with all relevant legislation.
  8. There is no maximum or minimum maturation limit for the steaks.
  9. Steaks entered for judging must be fit for human consumption on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th September 2025.
  10. You shall have the sole liability in respect of such steaks, including their consumption by the judges. You shall ensure that all steaks submitted by you pre packaged and labelled in accordance with all applicable product safety rules and regulations, including the jurisdiction where the tasting takes place, and are not misleading.
  11. You shall indemnify and hold the Organiser harmless from and against all costs, claims, demands, proceedings, liability, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) whatsoever made against or incurred by the Organiser as a result of, or in connection with, Your distribution of the steaks for the purpose of judging and, if applicable, serving at the event.
  12. Steaks will be grilled in accordance with the Organiser’s directions.
  13. • Judging, based on the criteria set out on our website, will take place and the results will be announced on 10th November 2024. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded as the judges deem appropriate and an overall winner selected from the Gold standard award winners as the ‘World Steak Challenge – World’s Best Steak.’
  14. All companies that have a gold-winning steak will be presented with a gold trophy on the night. Any further trophies can be purchased from the Organiser post-event. Any bronze and silver certificates will be emailed to the winning entrants after the event on request.
  15. The overall winner will be licensed to use the title “World’s Steak Challenge – World’s Best Steak” from the awards announcement. All Award winners will be licensed to use the relevant Awards logo with their beef products indefinitely, but the year must be stated and clearly visible. The logo itself must not be altered but can be resized, as long as it can be clearly read and recognised. The Organiser licenses any winner to use the relevant Awards logo in connection with its award, as long as the artwork is previously sent to the Organiser for approval.
  16. The Organiser reserves the right to change the judging panel without prior notice to entrants.
  17. The Organiser’s decision on all matters affecting this competition is final and legally binding.
  18. No correspondence will be entered into.
  19. Entries will become the property of the Organiser and will not be returned. Any meat not used in judging or at the event will be donated to charities working with our judging partner. 
  20. If entrants provide any images as part of their entry, they confirm that they hold the necessary rights, consents and licences required to use, amend, edit, adapt and publish the images by the Organiser. Each entrant hereby grants to the Organiser a worldwide, non-exclusive royalty-free right and licence to use, reproduce, publish, store, distribute and display the images in accordance with these Terms of entry.
  21. Entrants consent to the publication by the Organiser of any of the documents or materials constituting their entry.
  22. Winners may be required to take part in some post-event publicity and consent to their name and photographs being used for such purposes.
  23. By entering the Competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller for the purposes of the administration of the Competition and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
